BOWMANVILLE, ONT, CANADA (Thursday, July 6, 2023) — IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTD points leaders Paul Miller Racing look to extend their lead with a successful Canadian outing.
With a 104-point lead in the GTD title race, the No. 1 Quartz Engine Oil-backed BMW M4 GT3 lineup of Madison Snow and Bryan Sellers head to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park fresh off of a comeback drive from three laps down to second place at Watkins Glen.
The team is looking for their second podium finish at the Canadian track—following a third place in 2016 in Sellers and Snow’s first year as teammates. The duo also finished fourth in 2018 and fifth last year.
The longtime teammates have had a banner opening to their 2023 IMSA championship charge, scoring victories at Sebring International Raceway and the Long Beach Grand Prix and maintaining their margin in the points as we pass the halfway point of the season.
“CTMP is one of those tracks that we all love going to, but that hasn’t always been kind to us,” Paul Miller Racing team owner, Paul Miller said.
“So, while we absolutely want to correct that record with another podium or a victory here in Canada, what’s more important is making sure we have a good points day.
“This track is fast and incredibly tricky, so even though it’s only a two-hour and 40 minute race, we will have to be careful and keep our nose clean.”
IMSA Racing returns to NBC Network television for this weekend’s CTMP event—with the race airing live on Sunday at 12:00 PM ET.
Madison Snow
“Racing in CTMP is always a highlight of the year. It’s our only Canadian race which makes it special as the fans up in Canada are the best fans we see all year. The track offers a different type of challenge compared to most we race at as everything is super high speed. PMR has finished on the podium here before, the strong competition is always a challenge but we believe we can do it again this year.”
Bryan Sellers
“CTMP is a great event. The Canadian fans are always so knowledgeable and supportive of our races. The track is unlike no other we go to, with its high speeds, long-duration corners, and elevation changes. I’m very excited to be back for another year. We do, however, have our work cut out for us. It was not one of our best races last season so hopefully, we have made some improvements that will allow us a better result.”
