SPEEDWAY, IN (Saturday, September 16, 2023) — For the third consecutive race, it will be Paul Miller Racing at the front of the grid, with Madison Snow scoring the team’s third pole in a row today at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Snow’s lap time of 1:23.085 was not only fastest in the GTD class, but faster than all of the GTD Pro cars—leaving Snow to lead the entire IMSA GT field to the green in Sunday’s race.
Snow will partner with co-driver Bryan Sellers aboard the No. 1 Quartz Engine Oil-backed BMW M4 GT3 machine as they look for their third consecutive win-from-pole of 2023. The duo have scored five wins in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship thus far in 2023 and have the opportunity to lock up not one, but two championships with a good result in Sunday’s TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks.
By starting the race on Sunday, the pair will claim their second-consecutive Sprint Cup championship, after taking the honors in the championship-within-a-championship for races two hours, 40-minutes, or less in 2022.
Additionally, the Paul Miller Racing team sit 385 points ahead of the No. 27 in the fight for the season-long GTD title. With 385 points on offer in the final round, should the Paul Miller Racing team maintain their lead over the No. 27, Sellers and Snow will clinch the title prior to the final race at Petit Le Mans next month.
“Whenever people ask if we’re going to take it easy this weekend and focus on the championship, we tell them we are just going to keep doing what we’ve been doing all year, and that’s exactly what we did today,” Paul Miller Racing team owner, Paul Miller, said.
“Obviously, we aren’t going to put anything at risk, but there’s also no reason to change up our process that has earned us five wins and now three consecutive pole positions.
“Really, what sets today apart was Madison going faster than the GTD Pro cars for the first time ever. I can’t express how proud I am of the driver he’s become. Not only is he quick, but every race he is learning and getting smarter and ever faster, and we certainly saw that today.”

“I think the overall GT pole position is the big thing here for us. To be honest, after the practice sessions we were struggling a little bit with the setup. We also just didn’t know where we would be because there is so much traffic that you were just never able to get a clean lap, and so it’s hard to feel what the car has—you need a couple of laps to get that. It was a surprise where we ended up in qualifying, but it’s a testament to this Paul Miller Racing team and how they were able to nail the setup even without that data and feedback from practice. It was seriously perfect. I think we hit the nail on the head there, and hopefully, we can adapt that car to what the race brings us tomorrow.”
