MONTEREY, CA (Wednesday, May 8, 2024) –The Paul Miller Racing team returns to IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship action at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca with Bryan Sellers and Madison Snow as de facto point leaders in the GTD Pro class.
The duo currently sit second in the championship point standings – but with the current championship leader not currently slated to participate in the sprint rounds of the 2024 season, the team is P1 of the entries intending to run the full year.
The team has impressed since moving up to GTD Pro from the GTD class – finishing third on their Pro debut at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and backing up that performance with a fourth-place finish at the 12 Hours of Sebring.
The move up to Pro came after a dominant 2023 championship-winning season in the GTD class that saw the No. 1 BMW M4 GT3 on the top step of the podium five times (Sebring, Long Beach, CTMP, Road America, VIR), a new IMSA GTD record.
This weekend, the duo returns to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for the first IMSA race following a repave of the 2.238-mile California circuit. Laguna Seca remains one of the few tracks the series races at where Snow and Sellers have not stood on the top step of the podium together. Sellers and the Paul Miller Racing team did score victory, however, in 2019 with Corey Lewis as co-driver.
The return to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca also marks a return to sprint races—races two hours and forty minutes in length or shorter – following two endurance races to open the 2024 season.
“I think everyone loves coming to Laguna Seca because it’s a beautiful track and a beautiful area,” Paul Miller Racing team owner, Paul Miller, said.
“It’s not the track we’ve had the most success at, winning just once in 2019. But, the test we did here went well and I think the drivers and the engineers are excited for the challenge of the new pavement.
“This year has kicked off really well for us with good results in both Daytona and Sebring, so I’m hoping we can use that momentum – despite the break in the schedule – to get another good result here.”
The No.1 iHeartRadio BMW M4 GT3 machine will kick off the Motul Course De Monterey weekend Friday, May 10th at 1:15 PM PT.
Sunday’s race will be shown LIVE on NBC network television at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET. Flag-to-flag coverage will also be available on NBC Peacock.
Bryan Sellers
“Monterey is a special place and always one of the races I look forward to. It hasn’t been the kindest to us in the last couple of years, and Madison and I only share one podium together at the track back in 2021, so I know we want to reverse that trend and hopefully get a podium finish or even a win. I know Madison and I really want to get a win here for everyone on the team and for everyone at BMW. The new track surface will be a bit of a curveball for everybody in terms of the lack of tire deg and the resulting strategy – but there’s no one else I would want on my pit stand for that kind of race than our guys. I know Mitchell and Lars are already thinking about ways to maximize our race day, and hopefully, we can leave California with a good result.”
Madison Snow
“I’m excited to return to Laguna Seca for another year. There are a lot of unknowns this year with the new track pavement. The race will certainly unfold differently than it has in years prior, with tire deg not being the primary concern this year. But, no matter what happens, I always feel proud to be a small part of Paul Miller Racing. Every race with this team is special and exciting which makes for great weekends!”
