MONTEREY, CA (Sunday, May 12, 2024) — The Paul Miller Racing team leaves California with a seventh-place grid position and a subsequent seventh-place finish at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
Starting seventh in the hands of Madison Snow, the team opted to pit the No. 1 iHeartRadio BMW M4 GT3 machine early in the hopes of catching a yellow and improving their track position on the difficult-to-pass Monterey circuit.
However, the yellow would not fall at the opportune time for the team, and that, coupled with an off-track excursion at the hands of a competitor, would leave Bryan Sellers eighth by the time he got in the car. Sellers would track down the Ford Mustang ahead, and continue to make progress through the GTD traffic, but ultimately would finish seventh in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTD Pro class.
“We had a seventh-place car today,” Paul Miller Racing team manager, Mitchell Simmons, said.
“We tried something different on strategy in an effort to finish ahead of the kind of car we had this weekend, but that didn’t pan out. So, we started seventh, and finished seventh, with a seventh-place car. Let’s go to Detroit and hope we have more than a seventh-place car.”
The next race for the iMSA GTD Pro class is on the streets of Detroit for a 100-minute street fight on June 1st.

“It was kind of a scrappy race and starting seventh and finishing seventh really doesn’t even begin to cover everything that went into this result. We tried something different, hoping that we could move up, but sometimes those gambles just don’t pay off. Everyone at Paul Miller Racing executed well today, our BMW M4 was the best it had been all weekend. The crew just kept working and working on the car to make sure we had the best version of it come race day, and they made so much progress. Madison drove a great first two stints. But sometimes it doesn’t matter how well you execute and what gambles you take, seventh was just all that was in the cards today. So, we go on to Detroit and hope for more there.”
Madison Snow
“It wasn’t the best weekend we’ve ever had in IMSA. However, all things considered, I was hard-pressed to think that we could get a better result than we did with the car and the way things are. We pulled off the best that we could, it’s just unfortunate that that happened to be a seventh place this weekend. We’ll go on to the next race and hope that we can move up a couple of spots.”
