Alton, VA (Thursday, August 22, 2024) — Fresh off their second podium since jumping up to the IMSA GTD Pro class, the Paul Miller Racing team is ready to fight for the overall win at the lone GT-only event of the 2024 season.
Co-drivers Bryan Sellers and Madison Snow are the reigning GTD race-winners at VIRginia International Raceway. The pair combined to lead 77 of 81 laps during the event, clinching their fifth victory of the 2023 season en route to their second GTD championship title.
VIR is a special place for the drivers, scoring their first IMSA victory as a duo together at the Alton, VA track back in 2016.
The pair are carrying momentum into the race weekend, finishing second at the previous round of the championship at Road America. The result marked the No. 1 iHeartRadio BMW M3 GT3 team’s second podium finish of the year, the first being a third-place finish at the season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona.
“The podium finish last race was a really great reward for all of the hard work this team has done over the season, and hopefully we can parlay that momentum into a good result this weekend,” Paul Miller Racing team owner, Paul Miller, said.
“VIR is always a very special race because it’s a GT-only event, and being in the Pro class this year, we have a chance to fight for the overall win.
“This place has been good to us in the past. We won here last year and in 2016—marking the first win for Bryan and Madison together, and we’re hoping to add to that history this weekend.”
Practice for the Michelin GT Challenge at VIR kicks off on Friday at 2 PM ET. Sunday’s two-hour, 40-minute GT racing extravaganza will air live on USA Network beginning at 12 PM ET. Live flag-to-flag coverage will also be available on NBC Peacock.
Bryan Sellers
“I’m really looking forward to VIR. With a strong performance at Road America, we are hopeful that we can compound that into another good result. This is always such a great weekend, with the GT cars being the premier show. I’m excited to get started!”
Madison Snow
“VIR is an amazing place to race. The facility is always immaculate and is one of the most scenic race tracks on the schedule. The track always offers a good race. Battling here is a lot of fun as there is a great mix of high-speed as well as low-speed technical sections. Being a GT-only weekend makes it all that much better!”
