(July 23, 2010) — Bryce Miller had a disappointing qualifying session on Friday for the American Le Mans Series race at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Conn. Miller, of Summit, N.J., fought an issue in the car’s brake system, which made it difficult to set a quick lap time. He covered the 1.51-mile road course in one minute 11.648 seconds at an average speed of 75.368 mph. That placed his No. 48 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car sixth on the GTC class grid.
Luke Hines of Essex, England, will drive the first stint of the two-hour 45-minute race on Saturday, followed by Miller.
“We can’t really take so much from this session because we’re dealing with some issues in the braking system…
The tethering system came loose from the bias knob, so we in effect had a dummy bias knob that wasn’t working at all,” Miller said. “The biggest thing for us right now is we know that there’s a problem and we’re going to do what we can to fix it for tomorrow. Hopefully, we can then have a good run.”
