WATKINS GLEN, New York (June 22, 2026) – After opening the season with a victory at Daytona and establishing itself as a frontrunner in the Michelin Endurance Cup, Paul Miller Racing returns to endurance competition this weekend at Watkins Glen International for the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen.
Arriving second in the GTD PRO championship standings and leading the Michelin Endurance Cup, the No. 1 BMW M4 GT3 EVO enters one of the team’s strongest disciplines with momentum building in both championship battles.
Following a hard-fought fourth-place finish in Detroit, the team sits just 18 points behind the championship-leading No. 4 Corvette with 1,225 points.
While the GTD PRO battle remains incredibly close, Watkins Glen also marks a critical weekend in the Michelin Endurance Cup championship, where Paul Miller Racing currently leads with 27 points, holding a six-point advantage over Manthey.
The six-hour event serves as the third Michelin Endurance Cup round of the season and presents a very different challenge compared to the sprint races that preceded it.
Additional MEC points will be awarded both at the three-hour mark and at the finish, creating multiple opportunities for teams to gain or lose ground in the championship.
For Paul Miller Racing, the return to endurance racing comes at an important point in the season.
The team’s strongest performances have consistently come in long-distance competition, highlighted by victory at the Rolex 24 At Daytona.
While sprint races have proven more difficult, endurance events have allowed the team to showcase its strengths in strategy, execution, consistency, and race management.
Over six hours, races are rarely won through outright pace alone. Traffic management, pit stop execution, strategy decisions, and avoiding mistakes often play an equally important role in determining the outcome.
Those elements become even more significant with Michelin Endurance Cup points available at multiple stages of the race.
Watkins Glen has also delivered success for Paul Miller Racing in the past. In last year’s edition of the event, the team’s No. 48 BMW M4 GT3 captured victory, further reinforcing the organization’s reputation as one of IMSA’s strongest endurance racing programs.
As the championship battle continues to tighten, the stakes continue to grow. With valuable points available in both the GTD PRO championship and Michelin Endurance Cup standings, Watkins Glen represents one of the most significant opportunities of the season so far.
For Paul Miller Racing, it also represents something else: a return to the type of race that has produced the team’s best results in 2026.
