WATKINS GLEN, New York (June 29, 2026) – Paul Miller Racing turned flawless pit stops, smart strategy, and consistent execution into a runner-up finish in Sunday’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen.

The No. 1 BMW M4 GT3 EVO of Neil Verhagen and Connor De Phillippi finished second after six hours of racing, taking over the lead of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship while extending the team’s advantage in the Michelin Endurance Cup standings.

Starting third, Verhagen remained inside the lead group throughout the opening stint before an early full-course caution presented the team’s first opportunity.

A perfectly executed pit stop during the caution cycle vaulted the No. 1 BMW into the class lead, where it stayed through the opening round of stops.

Following the two-hour mark, De Phillippi climbed aboard the No. 1 BMW and continued to lead the field. A brief off-track moment through the Bus Stop chicane later dropped the BMW from first to third, but the team remained in contention and collected valuable Michelin Endurance Cup points by running third at the halfway mark.

Throughout the race, the Paul Miller Racing crew consistently gained track position in pit lane.

Every stop was executed cleanly and at the highest level, allowing the No. 1 BMW to gain positions against its rivals and stay in the fight despite nine full-course cautions.

The decisive moment came during the final hour. During the penultimate round of pit stops, Verhagen rejoined ahead of the  No. 77 Porsche after another exceptional stop by the crew.

From there, the team committed to an aggressive fuel strategy, taking only a short splash of fuel at its final stop while several competitors remained on a different sequence.

Every second saved in pit lane proved valuable. Careful fuel management over the closing laps allowed Verhagen to stay on track as rivals were forced to make longer final stops, moving the No. 1 BMW into second with just ten minutes remaining.

The race ultimately finished under full-course yellow, securing Paul Miller Racing’s second podium finish of the season in one of IMSA’s premier endurance events.

The result moves Paul Miller Racing to the top of the GTD PRO championship standings with 1,575 points, giving the team a 60-point advantage over the No. 3 Corvette pairing of Antonio Garcia and Alexander Sims.

Paul Miller Racing also strengthened its Michelin Endurance Cup lead, increasing its total to 34 points after scoring at both the three-hour mark and the finish.

With five races complete and five remaining on the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship schedule, Paul Miller Racing heads into the second half of the season leading both the GTD PRO championship and the Michelin Endurance Cup.

The team’s next challenge comes at the Chevrolet Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on July 10–12, where the GTD PRO class returns to sprint racing in a 2-hour, 40-minute event.

“P2 here in Watkins Glen. It was a fantastic overall performance from the team. They called the perfect strategy. We had great pit stops all day, and every stop moved us forward. We kept the race clean, gathered some great points, and now we just need to stay consistent and do a good job again at Mosport in a couple of weeks.”
