BOWMANVILLE, Ontario (July 8, 2026) – Momentum is on Paul Miller Racing’s side as the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship heads to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for the Chevrolet Grand Prix.
Following a runner-up finish at Watkins Glen, the No. 1 BMW M4 GT3 EVO of Neil Verhagen and Connor De Phillippi arrives in Canada leading the GTD PRO championship with five races remaining in the 2026 season.
While Watkins Glen rewarded endurance strategy and execution over six hours, this weekend presents an entirely different challenge.
The Chevrolet Grand Prix returns the GTD PRO field to sprint racing, where outright pace, qualifying, and track position often outweigh long-run strategy.
With no Michelin Endurance Cup points available and the additional endurance entries absent, Sunday’s 2-hour, 40-minute race puts even greater emphasis on making every lap count.
Few circuits demand as much commitment as Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. High-speed direction changes and limited passing opportunities place a premium on precision throughout the weekend.
Mistakes are costly, opportunities are limited, and clean execution in every session can ultimately define the outcome on race day.
Verhagen returns to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park with strong familiarity of the circuit after securing pole position in last year’s qualifying.
While every season presents a new set of challenges, his previous success around the 2.459-mile road course provides valuable experience heading into another important championship weekend.
The GTD PRO field also welcomes a new challenger this weekend as the No. 68 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo joins the class after making its debut in GTD at Watkins Glen. Even with a smaller sprint field compared to the endurance rounds, the competition remains as close as ever.
After five races, Paul Miller Racing leads the GTD PRO championship with 1,575 points, holding a 60-point advantage over the No. 3 Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports entry.
Live coverage of qualifying begins on Saturday, July 11, at 3:55 p.m. ET, followed by flag-to-flag race coverage on Sunday, July 12, beginning at 2:00 p.m. ET. U.S. viewers can watch on Peacock, while international coverage will be available on IMSA.tv and the IMSA Official YouTube channel.
