(August 24, 2010) — The ORBIT / Paul Miller Racing crew will test their speed before and during the upcoming American Le Mans Series event at Mosport International Raceway in Bowmanville, Ont. The experienced crew will log long hours rebuilding the No. 48 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car that was damaged during the ALMS race on Sunday at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis. They plan to have the car ready for testing at Mosport on Wednesday, representing their sponsors Marquis Jet, Grand Prix Racewear, IPC Systems and TOTAL Lubricants.
The team’s drivers – Luke Hines of Essex, England, and Bryce Miller of Summit, N.J. – are anxious to get on track, both to set up the car for the two-hour 45-minute race on Aug. 29 and to get up to speed on the fast 2.459-mile road course. Miller last drove at Mosport in 2006; Hines is a Mosport rookie.
“I haven’t been to Mosport since 2006. It is a very challenging circuit with lots of elevation change,” Miller said.
“The crew is working so hard to rebuild the car for Mosport. It’s very discouraging at the moment because they haven’t received any reward for all their hard work these last couple races, but no doubt the car has been ready for a result and the team deserves one. We just have to keep trying and hopefully the luck will turn our way.”
Hines has been using computer games to learn new tracks this year, his first season racing in North America. He hasn’t tested the Mosport configuration yet, but he’s ready for it.
“I haven’t raced Mosport yet on the computer game, but I’ve heard it’s a good one,” he said. “It’s one of the famous tracks in North America that you just have to go to. I’ve heard it’s really fast and I like fast tracks, so it should be good. I’ve never raced in Canada, so I’m looking forward to my first Canadian race at such a historic place.”

The two-hour 45-minute American Le Mans Series race is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 29, from 3:05 pm to 5:50 pm EDT on the 2.459-mile Mosport International Raceway road course in Bowmanville, Ont. The race will be telecast on SPEED starting at 4 pm EDT and broadcast live on radiolemans.com and Sirius XM satellite radio. Live streaming and timing/scoring will be available at imsaracing.net.
