(August 28, 2010) — Bryce Miller earned his first American Le Mans Series pole position on Saturday, posting the fastest GTC class time during qualifying for the series race at Mosport International Raceway in Bowmanville, Ont. Miller drove the No. 48 ORBIT / Paul Miller Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car to the class pole with a record lap time of one minute 22.495 seconds on the 2.709-mile road course, at an average speed of 107.308 mph.

Miller, of Summit, N.J., will share driving duty with Luke Hines of Essex, England, during the two-hour 45-minute race on Sunday. Their Porsche sports the colors of Marquis Jet, Grand Prix Racewear, IPC Systems and TOTAL Lubricants.

“I really enjoy this circuit. It’s a great circuit with a lot of character,” Miller said. “It’s exciting to be in the qualifying position at this track and pull a great lap here. It can be an unforgiving track. It’s great for the team. The car has been technically sound, but we just really had the luck come our way.”
Miller hopes to match his father’s success at Mosport – Paul Miller took a Trans-Am victory on the challenging track in 1985.

“It’s incredible to look at the data and realize the speed you’re carrying around here,” Bryce Miller said. “All the corners are really fast, which is a strength for me – I like fast corners. You have to have a lot of confidence here. My dad had a victory here in 1985 in Trans-Am, so it makes my pole a little more special. Hopefully I can also finish up with a winning result.”
