DANVILLE, VA (Sunday, August 27, 2023) — The Paul Miller Racing team made history this weekend at VIR, scoring a record-setting fifth IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTD win within a single season.

Starting on pole in the hands of Madison Snow, the team utilized the same Madison Snow-Bryan Sellers-Madison Snow driver strategy that notched them their win at the prior round at Road America. The duo would lead 77 of 81 laps aboard their BMW M4 GT3 to take the victory.

In addition to the victories today at VIR and earlier this month at Road America, the No. 1 Quartz Engine Oil-backed team also has wins at Sebring, Long Beach, and Canadian Tire Motorsport Park this season. The fifth win marks a new IMSA GTD record, as no team has scored as many victories in a single season as Paul Miller Racing has in 2023.

“I’m just very proud of everybody; it’s an amazing team effort,” Paul Miller Racing team owner, Paul Miller said.

“Obviously Madison and Bryan were terrific, but the whole team has contributed not just today, but to the season we’ve had. It’s a wonderful year.

“Before this season, we had never won more than two races in a year. Now, we’ve won five in just nine starts this year. I’m just so impressed with how hard everyone has worked to get to this level.”

The team’s success throughout the year has them sitting 375 points ahead in the overall championship and 229 points ahead in the Sprint Cup, both over the No. 27 machine with one sprint race and once endurance round left in the 2023 season.

“I really like race wins, but I really love making history. And this crew deserves to be written in the history books,” Paul Miller Racing team manager, Mitchell Simmons said.

“So much of this crew have been here for years, they’ve been working on building this program up to where it is today and I’m so grateful to see that rewarded in such a major way both today and all season long.”

The Paul Miller Racing team will be back in action at the final Sprint Cup race of the year, the Battle on the Bricks at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway Sept 15-17.

Madison Snow
“Five wins in our season! It’s something that’s never been done before in GTD. It really speaks to this team and how well we’ve been able to perform together and execute every weekend and every race. We’ve had a strong car, but we’ve had an even stronger team—the pit stops, and the strategy, and the setup, it’s all the work behind the scenes that has led to what we’ve been able to accomplish. VIR was no exception to that. We started from pole, best place to start, and the strategy was perfect, the car was awesome. The prep on the car is what always gets understated, but that’s really what makes stuff like today possible.”

Bryan Sellers
“Just super happy. This is a day that the whole team can celebrate—a record number of wins! Just such a great race, at a place where we all love. It was our first win together for Madison and I and to get the season win-record together here, it’s just so special. I’m so thankful for everyone on this team and the effort they continue to put in. There’s not much more to say other than thank you.”
