ELKHART LAKE, WI (Sunday, August 4, 2019) – Paul Miller Racing, with drivers Corey Lewis and Bryan Sellers, delivered a second-place finish at Road America after Lewis scored the team’s best start of the year in second.

Lewis—filling in for the injured Ryan Hardwick in the No. 48 1st Phorm / Total Lubricants Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo—took over the lead just 28 minutes in the race.

Lewis handed the car over to co-driver Bryan Sellers at the 49-minute mark. Sellers maintained the lead, heading off the No. 9 Porsche for several laps before making a pit stop of his own.

During the final-stop-shuffle, Sellers emerged in P2 and spent the remainder of the race trying to retake the No. 9 in front.

Ultimately, the Paul Miller Racing team would cross the line in second place, scoring the team’s best finish and second podium of the year.

For Lewis, it was his second podium of the day, having scored third in the Super Trofeo race that ran prior.

“It feels great to be back on the podium,” Paul Miller Racing founder Paul Miller said.

“The car was excellent, the pit stops were excellent, the guys drove a flawless race.

“It almost makes it bittersweet that we ended up second after putting in what I think was a race-winning performance. But, It’s always a good day when you get to take home a trophy.

“I’m so proud of everyone on this team, they definitely earned it.”

DRIVER QUOTES

Bryan Sellers
“In the end, it was a really great day. We were able to come home second, which is exactly where we started the race, and bring home some hardware.
“We learned a lot I think this weekend. We were able to progress the car and make some improvements and we learned a lot about the tire I feel like for the first time.
“In two short weeks we go back to VIR for our next round, so we’ll look to improve one more spot on the podium and hopefully take the battle to the No. 9 car.”

Corey Lewis
“Strong day at Road America! I was third in Super Trofeo and then we topped off the weekend with a second place here at Paul Miller Racing.
“Our 1st Phorm Lamborghini was on point; Everybody in the pits was perfect; Bryan and I did everything we could to try and make it to the top step, but we have more races coming up in the future and hopefully we can capture that win.
“I’m beyond proud and I can’t wait to get to the next race.”
