PARSIPPANY, N.J. (September 6, 2018) — The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is winding down, but the battle for the GTD class championship continues to intensify with just two races remaining. Paul Miller Racing currently holds a 13 point lead over Meyer Shank Racing heading into the Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

The Lamborghini points-leaders will have over 35 employees, customers, and guests from Total Lubricants at the track this weekend, not only supporting the championship effort on track, but also participating in the fan interaction tent at turn four. A trusted partner of Paul Miller Racing, Total Lubricants is the fourth largest oil and gas company in the world. TOTAL QUARTZ motor oils, whose logo graces the doors of the No. 48 Lamborghini, offer cutting edge technology to protect engines from wear and corrosion, all while providing high quality engine performance as well as fuel economy. The Paul Miller Racing drivers will spend various parts of the weekend showing Total Lubricants VIPs the behind the scenes action of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

“Paul Miller Racing and Total make a great team through a strong partnership on and off the track,” Christophe Doussoux, Senior Vice President, Lubricants for Total Specialties USA, Inc. “This is an important race in a scenic location, and we’re excited to bring our fan-engagement tent for the occasion. We enjoy bringing customers and guests to the races, and PMR always makes sure they have a great time.”

The No. 48 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 team has held the points lead since winning the Twelve Hours of Sebring in March, accumulating five podium finishes in seven races. The all-American driving duo of Bryan Sellers and Madison Snow have finished within the top five positions in all but one race, showcasing the consistency worthy of a championship title.

This weekend, fourteen GTD entries will compete in the two hour and forty minute race. Seventeen points will be awarded to the last place car, and 35 points to the race winning car. With a total of 70 points left up for grabs this season, the battle remains open for the title.

Paul Miller Racing holds three top five finishes at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, where the team finished in second place in 2014 and 2015. Madison Snow earned the TOTAL pole position in 2017, but suffered heavy contact from another car while leading the race. Although the car was able to continue, but lost valuable time undergoing repairs. The car still showed impressive speed once continuing, speed the team hopes to continue showing this weekend at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

The 11-turn, 2.238-mile road course is legendary in the sports car racing community. With its sweeping elevation changes, flowing turns, and iconic corkscrew five story drop, the track is a fan and driver favorite on the IMSA WeatherTech calendar. The circuit never disappoints, offering exiting passing opportunities for competitors, and varying track changes, with cool mornings, warm afternoons, and a sometimes sandy track surface.

The Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix will air live on Sunday, September 9 FS1 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM Eastern. Live audio coverage from IMSA Radio will be available for every session from the Radio Le Mans team, available worldwide online and on the IMSA app. International audiences will be able to watch the race stream live in its entirety on imsa.tv. Driver Quotes

Bryan Sellers
I’m really looking forward to Laguna Seca. It is an amazing area and a very prestigious track! It has been a track that has been difficult for us in the past and we are really looking forward to the opportunity to try and turn that around. I feel like we have a strong program and everyone is operating at a high level, it will be interesting to see where we stack up.

Madison Snow
I’m excited to be heading back to Laguna. It’s a track that I always look forward to on the schedule every year. You will always find good racing here, and there are a lot of passing opportunities. We are still holding the championship lead, so our goal is to come home with a solid finish and head on to Petit Le Mans.
