Paul Miller Racing has its sights set on turning its Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca qualifying pace into race results this weekend in the penultimate round of the 2019 championship.

The team’s Lamborghini started on the front row for the past two years in a row – earning the pole in 2017 and starting second last year.

Bryan Sellers and Corey Lewis will pilot the team’s 1st Phorm / Total Lubricants-backed Lamborghini at the famous 2.238-mile Monterey circuit this weekend with the team looking to improve on its fourth-place finish here last year.

“Luck hasn’t been on our side this year, but we have two races remaining, and everyone on the team wants to see the No. 48 Lamborghini back in victory lane,” Paul Miller Racing founder, Paul Miller said.

“Both our drivers and the entire crew love racing here at Laguna Seca – this is a venue where we’d love to pull off a strong result.

The action at the 2.238-mile, 11-turn WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca circuit kicks off on Friday with first practice at 10:55 am Pacific time.

Sunday’s Monterey SportsCar Championship race will be aired live on NBC network television starting at 12:00 pm Pacific time.

DRIVER QUOTES

Bryan Sellers
“Laguna Seca is a historic stop on our schedule. You come in through the main gates and climb this massive hill, and when you get to the top you overlook this beautiful racetrack.
“And it’s one of my favorite cities that we get to go to, and the event has become increasingly better as the years have gone on. It’s a place you truly look forward to getting to each year.
“We need to make sure that execute at this track, we’ve shown speed over the last couple races but I feel we’ve been unable to convert that into a result.
“Moving forward we need to make sure we dot all our I’s and cross all our T’s and try to produce a result from the speed we have.”

Corey Lewis
“I’m looking forward to getting back to Laguna Seca and the penultimate round in the championship. We’re looking to rebuild and regroup and gain back that momentum we had midseason.
“We’ve always enjoyed coming to Laguna Seca; it’s such a legendary track in history. In past races at this track the team has done extremely well, they’ve always had a fast race car, and I’m looking forward to working with the team and Bryan and putting our 1st Phorm Lamborghini back on the podium – right where I know we should be.
“I’m looking forward to getting back to work with the guys and can’t wait to get on track.”
