DANVILLE, VA (Thursday, August 24, 2023) — The Paul Miller Racing team is ready to take on the second GT-only event of 2023—the Michelin GT Challenge at VIRginia International Raceway.

The team, as well as drivers Bryan Sellers and Madison Snow, enter the event as current championship leaders and winners of the previous IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race at Road America earlier this month.

The Road America victory was the No. 1 Quartz Engine Oil-backed team’s fourth win of the year, following triumphs at the 12 Hours of Sebring, Long Beach Grand Prix and at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. The success at these events has notched the team a 205-point lead in the IMSA GTD championship and bolstered BMW’s 225-point championship lead in the Manufacturers’ standings with three races to go.

The team has happy memories at VIR, with Sellers and Snow scoring their first win together at the track back in 2016. Additionally, the duo finished third last year and second in 2021 at VIR.

“VIR is a great event because it really gives the GT cars their moment to shine,” Paul Miller Racing team owner, Paul Miller, said.

“We’ve also had a decent amount of success there with multiple podiums and, of course, that incredible win in 2016 that was just the sign of so much more success to come for Madison and Bryan.

“We’re looking forward to hopefully more success this weekend, but most importantly we want to make sure we come out of this tough GT-only weekend with a good points day going into the final two races of the year—anything can happen in this series.”

You can catch this weekend’s Michelin GT Challenge at VIR LIVE on USA Network on Sunday, August 27 at 2:00 PM ET.

Madison Snow
“I always look forward to racing at VIR. For starters it’s a GT-only weekend which changes it up a bit for us. It usually means a lot less full course yellows during the weekend, which makes for better racing. The track and facility are top notch and so are the people that run the track. The President of the track, Kerrigan Smith, as well as Connie Nyholm, the owner, are always so involved in making every VIR weekend better than the last. They’re some of the most supportive of all of us at IMSA and that really makes VIR a wonderful place to visit and race.”

Bryan Sellers
“VIR is such a great weekend for so many reasons. It’s easily one of the best events on the IMSA calendar for racing, and the fact that it’s a GT only weekend makes it that much more special for us. The people at VIR are unmatched in their support, both those that work at VIR and the attendees. The fans here really are second to none. It’s also a pivotal event in the season because it marks the run towards the end of the championship. This is a race where you want to show strength and hopefully establish momentum for what the last few races of your season will look like.”
