ELKHART LAKE, WI (Thursday, August 4, 2022) — Winners of the last IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race in Lime Rock, Paul Miller Racing are looking to capitalize on the momentum of victory when the series rolls into the National Park of Speed—Road America.
Though it is a favorite track for drivers and fans alike, Road America is a track where co-drivers Madison Snow and Bryan Sellers have yet to taste victory together in the IMSA GTD class. The pair finished second in 2018 en route to their championship victory, and Sellers notched an additional second place in 2019, driving with then co-driver Corey Lewis.
The pair are looking for that first Road America win together in their first visit to the track with the all-new BMW M4 GT3. The Quartz Engine Oil-backed team is also looking to wrap up the IMSA Sprint Cup, a championship-within-a-championship for races two hours, 40-minutes or less. The No. 1 crew leads by 212 points (2039 to 1827) over the No. 27 with two sprint races left to run in the season.
“Road America is just a great facility,” Paul Miller Racing team owner, Paul Miller, said.
“The drivers love the track, the fans there are some of the best all season, and it would be really special for all of us if we could pull off another win.
“Winning in Lime Rock was exceptional. We know we have the crew and the drivers to make it happen here, and hopefully, we can pull another great result off.”
IMSA Fastlane SportsCar Weekend kicks off Friday, August 5th at 11:05 AM. The two-hour, 40-minute IMSA race will air LIVE and flag-to-flag on Sunday on NBC Peacock beginning at 10:40 AM CT / 11:40 AM ET. Television coverage will begin on USA Network at 11:00 AM CT / 12:00 PM ET.
“Road America always offers a great weekend and race for IMSA. We go from the shortest track on the schedule to the longest, where we have to really work to average out the balance of the car through the lap and not focus on one corner like you need to in Lime Rock. This track is also one of the best for multi-class racing as it’s very easy to coexist with the other cars on track. We are heading into this race with a lot of energy from the win at Lime Rock so let’s see what we can do!”
“Road America is one of the pinnacle tracks in the US and one of the best towns we visit. It will be our first time there with the BMW, so we will have some work to do to make sure we are competitive and can go into Sunday aiming for the best possible finish. Hopefully, we roll off the truck strong and can produce a good result.”
