DETROIT, Michigan (May 30, 2025) – Paul Miller Racing secured a second-row lockout for Saturday’s Chevrolet Detroit Sports Car Classic after a disrupted qualifying session on the tight, nine-turn Detroit street circuit.
Neil Verhagen posted a 1:11.480 in the No. 1 BMW M4 GT3 EVO 0.558 seconds off pole, earning a provisional P4 before the session was brought to an early end due to a red flag caused by a crash from car No. 81.
Teammate Dan Harper, in the No. 48 BMW, followed closely with a best time of 1:11.884, securing P5 at the time of the stoppage.

With the red flag freezing the running order there was no chance to improve.
However, following post-qualifying technical inspection, the No. 14 Vasser Sullivan Lexus was disqualified for a tech violation and had to move to the rear – promoting both BMWs one position forward.
Verhagen will now start third and Harper fourth in Saturday’s GTD Pro grid.

The Chevrolet Detroit Sports Car Classic features only the GTP and GTD Pro classes, with 22 entries split evenly between them.
The event is a 100-minute street circuit sprint on Detroit’s 1.654-mile downtown layout. Teams will have one final chance to fine-tune their setups during a 20-minute practice session on Saturday morning at 10:35 a.m. ET.
Flag-to-flag race coverage begins at 3:30 p.m. ET on Peacock in the U.S. and will stream internationally via IMSA.TV and the IMSA Official YouTube channel. The green flag is scheduled for 3:40 p.m. ET.

Dan Harper
”Was a difficult day yesterday. We got a bit fortunate with the red flag that we could qualify in a decent position for the race start. Let’s hope for a clean race and we can make some progress.”
