(September 14, 2009) — Miller Barrett Racing will field its class-leading driver duo again in this week’s Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series race at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. Bryce Miller of Summit, N.J., and Kevin Roush of Upland, Calif., will share driving duty in the No. 48 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, carrying the colors of Marquis Jet, IPC Systems and Total Lubricants. The Sept. 19 race will be the third of four test races this season for the rookie team.

Miller and Roush combined forces in the team’s first race, at Watkins Glen International last month. They had a strong start, with Roush leading the GT class, until a wayward Daytona Prototype knocked the car out of the race. The team struggled with gearbox issues at the next race, in MontrĂ©al, but completed a successful test last week.

“We are excited to have Kevin back in our car after his performance at The Glen, where he led several laps in our debut race. He knows our car now and that familiarity will help us at Utah,” Miller said.

“After our recent test, the team was able to again make some forward strides to improve the car. I am quite excited for this next race, but it’s also still a development program and it’s important for us to not become distracted by our competition during these select races. Being a young team, we need to maintain our focus on improving processes, teamwork and the car, so we have an established systematic protocol going into the 2010 season.”

Roush usually travels cross-continent to race, so the 4.486-mile Utah road course is like a home track for him. He predicts a fast pace on Saturday, with the race distance changed
